Cartoon Network Latin America
Since November 2009, Rain Barrel has been working intensely with Cartoon Network Latin America (CNLA) to develop its comprehensive corporate social responsibility program to enable it to become a better corporate citizen in the region.
Keeping in mind CNLA’s corporate DNA as an entertainment media for kids, Rain Barrel is helping shape its mission to advance children’s rights and media literacy, while providing a fun web-based environment that offers kids, their parents and friends opportunities for greater community involvement.
In addition to developing a statement of values, Rain Barrel has helped CNLA review its standards and practices, including programming, promotion, marketing and advertising, and identified regional partners, including the United Nations Children’s Fund and leading non-governmental organizations and experts in the field of child development and corporate social responsibility.
One result is CNLA’s enhanced ability to use its extraordinary reach to promote campaigns around humanitarian efforts. In the months following Haiti’s catastrophic earthquake in January 2010, CNLA broadcast fundraising appeals to its 30 million subscribers in the region to raise funds for UNICEF’s work in that country.
