Niloufar Pourzand has worked for UNICEF in Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, the Eastern Caribbean, Indonesia and India over her 34-year career with the organization. In addition to her managerial positions, she has worked in the areas of education, child protection and gender equality, as well as social policy and monitoring and evaluation. In 2016-2017, she was Professor of Practice at the Centre for Refugee Studies, York University, and is now teaching a post-graduate course in Development Studies there. In 2017, she worked as a consultant for UNICEF’s Middle East and North Africa Regional Office on child marriage and UNICEF Tunisia on child protection. Niloufar has a PhD in Sociology, Gender and Ethnic Studies from the University of Greenwich in the UK.
