Clara Marcela Barona de Ayerbe

 
 

Clara Marcela Barona de Ayerbe is a Social Communication and Communication for Development (C4D) professional, with 10 years of experience in mass media, publishing companies and more than 25 years with UNICEF in Communication and Social Mobilization and C4D in Latin America and Africa. 

As Section Chief with UNICEF, Clara Marcela designed and promoted the Children’s Mandate for Peace in Colombia and the Bolivian Alliance for Children. As C4D Chief in Angola, she created and implemented the promotion Strategy for Family Competencies known as the “Recipe for Happiness” in partnership with the government and twelve local religious communities working with children. She also oversaw communications around campaigns for the eradication of polio and the control of a yellow fever epidemic.  

More recently, Clara Marcela has worked as a communications consultant for UNDP in Colombia, as well as the UNICEF country offices in Colombia and Peru. She is a Colombian national, based in Bogotá.
