Noreen Khan

 

Noreen Khan is a gender specialist with 25 years of experience in gender equality programming at the global and country levels. She has focused on UNICEF’s work around global gender strategies, programming and policy. She has provided technical support to its offices across program sectors to achieve scale-able gender results.

At UNICEF headquarters, Noreen dealt with legal reform, child marriage, gender-based violence, protection, adolescent girls’ education, and community development and participation. She led its work on its response to sexual violence in conflict, developing learning materials on gender-based violence and protection from sexual exploitation and abuse.

Over the past decade, Noreen has worked on gender issues at the country level, ranging from community mobilization to women’s political empowerment. Her work is noted for sharpening multi-sectoral programming and cross-sectoral synergies. Noreen is a U.S. national and resides in Canada.
