Safa Shahkhalili

 

Safa Shahkhalili is a cultural anthropologist and international development consultant with expertise in research and writing, policy development, and partnerships and outreach.

With educational and professional experience in eight countries, Safa has worked with a think tank, in academia, a social enterprise, a government ministry and with UN agencies. Her work has focused on social justice issues relating to urban poverty, disability rights, ethical consumption and social entrepreneurship, quality and inclusive education, and ECCD. Safa uses an intersectional, anti-colonial and feminist framework in her work.

Safa is the creator and host of the “Rethinking Development” podcast where she interviews international development and humanitarian aid practitioners to discuss ethical issues, systemic challenges, and personal reflections on their work.
